Use Orton Gillingham instruction to support students with dyslexia at Fraser Academy in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC. This is a permanent, full time position.
As a Learning Specialist, you will work within Learning Services at Fraser Academy. You will create individualized learning plans and deliver lessons building literacy, executive functioning, and cognitive processing. The position serves students with learning differences through remedial education.
Key Responsibilities: Work one-to-one with students
Design Orton Gillingham and mediated learning lessons
Create learning plans from student IEPs and profiles
Facilitate individualized Executive Function curriculum instruction
Complete reports, year plans, and IEP contributions
Requirements: Orton Gillingham Certification
Four-year Bachelor’s Degree
Two years working with learning differences
Strong organizational and time management skills
Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
Bring structured instruction, remedial education expertise, and Orton Gillingham training to individualized student learning at Fraser Academy.
