Lead heavy equipment maintenance and repairs at Aecon’s Redcliff, Alberta shop while coordinating technicians, apprentices, and support staff daily.
As Shop Foreperson, you will combine hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs with frontline supervision. You will plan workflow, assign work, support complex troubleshooting, and maintain secure, reliable, cost-effective shop operations. The position reports to the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Complete heavy equipment diagnostics, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
Coordinate daily shop activities and assign technician workloads
Inspect completed work against safety, quality, and manufacturer requirements




Coach technicians and apprentices through technical assistance
Maintain repair tracking, service reports, and work documentation
Requirements: Minimum 10 years construction tools and equipment maintenance experience
Minimum 5–7 years as a Shop Foreperson
Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Knowledge of road construction vehicles and equipment
