Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Controls Systems Software Designer / PLC Programmer to support the development, commissioning, and troubleshooting of custom automated manufacturing equipment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on machine startup, debugging, and solving complex controls issues in a machine‑building environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for automated equipmentCommission and debug newly built machines both in‑house and at customer sitesDiagnose controls, electrical, pneumatic, robot, and conveyor‑related issues during machine startupWork closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to identify root causes and drive solutionsSupport machine integration, testing, FATs, SATs, and customer acceptance activitiesAssist with the integration of robotics, vision systems, motion control, sensors, and other automation technologiesProvide technical support throughout the full project lifecycle, from build through installation and commissioningTravel to customer sites in Canada and the United States as requiredSkills and RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering preferred)5-8+ years of experience in Controls software or PLC ProgrammingStrong hands‑on experience with Siemens PLCs and TIA PortalExperience in machine building, industrial automation,
