Job Overview

- We are seeking an Accounting Tutor/Teacher to help students build confidence and practical skills in accounting. The role involves explaining concepts clearly, adapting instruction to different learning needs, and supporting students as they work toward their academic goals.

- The tutor/teacher may work with individuals or small groups in a tutoring or classroom setting.

- This is a paid position. Instructional materials and lesson plans may be provided or developed in collaboration with the learning team.

Duties

- Provide tutoring and teaching in foundational accounting topics, such as financial statements, bookkeeping, journal entries, and basic accounting principles.

- Assess students’ understanding and tailor explanations, practice activities, and lesson pacing to their needs.

- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons, exercises, and review sessions.

- Help students complete assignments, prepare for assessments, and develop effective study habits without doing their work for them.





- Track student progress and share constructive feedback with students, families, or relevant staff as appropriate.

- Maintain a supportive, organized learning environment and communicate expectations clearly.

- Follow applicable classroom, tutoring, and student-safety procedures.

Qualifications

- Knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to explain them in an accessible way.

- Experience in tutoring and/or teaching; classroom experience is a plus.

- Solid communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles.

- Experience working with children is preferred, particularly for candidates supporting younger students.

- Dependable, organized, and committed to creating a respectful and encouraging learning environment.

Pay: $17.93-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 15.0 per week
