Perform chemical, physical, and bacteriological testing for The City of Red Deer as a full time WWTP Laboratory Technologist in Red Deer.
This regular full-time position supports reliable wastewater treatment laboratory operations. You will manage analytical data, maintain ISO 17025 quality requirements, and support regulatory compliance. The work includes equipment maintenance, method validation, inventory control, and technical collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct chemical, physical, and bacteriological sample analyses
Validate analytical data and maintain statistical records
Perform QA/QC activities within ISO 17025 standards
Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate laboratory equipment
Support regulatory reporting, inventory, and waste handling
Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent education
Two-year Chemical Technology program or equivalent
Three years of related field experience
Knowledge of laboratory techniques and testing principles
Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and specialized equipment safely
Apply laboratory analysis, ISO 17025 quality practices, and wastewater testing expertise supporting Red Deer’s municipal operations.
