Transport patients safely at Shared Health’s Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, using strong communication, organization, and patient-handling skills. This in-person position includes days, nights, and weekends.
As a Patient Transport Assistant, you will work within Patient Transport Services under professional staff guidance. You will move patients, oxygen, supplies, blood products, specimens, medical records, equipment, and other urgent items. The position also supports equipment cleaning, deceased patient transport, oxygen therapy, and patient transfers.
Key Responsibilities: Safely transport patients and urgent patient-care items
Assist with lifting, turning, and transferring patients
Maintain oxygen therapy under professional staff direction
Clean equipment as directed by staff
Transport deceased patients and oversee funeral-home release
Requirements: Complete high school education to Manitoba standards
Complete Cushman Cart Training within three months
Complete lifts and transfers training within one month
Meet employer CPR training requirements
Demonstrate basic computer and English communication skills
Support patient care at Health Sciences Centre through secure transport, equipment handling, communication, and dependable service across Winnipeg.
