The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organizations resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Experience in long term care setting an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset
