Job description:

TEMPO School in Edmonton is seeking an approximately 1.00 FTE temporary English Language Arts teacher capable of teaching at both the elementary and junior high school level.

This position will commence immediately.

TEMPO School is an independent, provincially accredited, K-12, day school with a student population of 500 students. The school has a traditional, academic focus with small class sizes, uniforms, and high standards of teaching.

All interested applicants must:

Be capable of teaching courses with provincial achievement tests and diploma exams.

Be in possession of, or eligible for, a valid Alberta teaching certificate

Be comfortable teaching in a traditional, academic environment

Have an excellent command of oral and written English

Have a solid literary base

Have strong classroom management skills

Be comfortable writing curriculum materials as required





Be willing to work as a team with other teachers

Be able to motivate students to reach their full potential

A graduate degree in English or a related discipline and experience teaching English at grades with the PAT exams would be an asset.

Please include a list of related courses studied at the post‑secondary level.

This is an eight‑month, full‑time, temporary position covering maternity leave.
