Hey Neighbour Coffee Roasters is a community-focused specialty coffee roasting company dedicated to serving high-quality beverages and creating a welcoming environment. We're passionate about great coffee, genuine hospitality, and building long- lasting relationships with our guests.

We just opened a storefront in downtown Kamloops and are looking for a barista with experience, who is passionate about coffee and ready to jump in and be part of out team.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Set a positive example for customer service, teamwork, cleanliness, and work ethic.
- Help create a positive and welcoming work environment.
- Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, matcha, and other menu items to company standards.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming customer service.
- Maintain consistency and quality in coffees and all drinks and products.
- Help answer customer questions and resolve concerns professionally.
- Build relationships with regular customers and contribute to a welcoming neighbourhood atmosphere.
- Complete opening and closing procedures as required.
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Ensure equipment and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.




- Make sure the shop is ready for the next shift.
- Monitor inventory throughout the shift and communicate low-stock items to management.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Help maintain company standards and procedures.
- Identify operational issues and take appropriate action or communicate them to management.
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and supportive work environment.

Qualifications

- Barista experience is required
- A valid food safe certificate is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Flexible availability, including holidays
- A background in hospitality is an asset
- Working hours may fall anywhere between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Open availability throughout the week, including weekends, is preferred.
- Must be entitled to work in Canada

Shift Details:

- Shifts are up to 8 hours in length and include a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
- position is expected to start as soon as possible.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
