The Human Factors Specialist supports a provincial Patient Safety team promoting usability, patient safety, and eSafety. You will evaluate healthcare environments, information systems, equipment, workflows, forms, and interfaces. The work includes user research, data analysis, design recommendations, and consultation on emerging safety issues.
Key Responsibilities: Apply human factors methodologies to develop healthcare solutions
Evaluate rooms, workflows, equipment, interfaces, and information systems
Collect requirements through observation, interviews, and focus groups
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data




Prepare reports, presentations, prototypes, and design recommendations
Requirements: Master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Knowledge of human factors concepts, processes, principles, and tools
Expertise in user-centered design and usability assessment methods
Solid analytical, communication, collaboration, and project management abilities
Ability to travel throughout Alberta and conduct field work
Use human factors, usability engineering, and user-centered design expertise to advance patient safety throughout Alberta's healthcare system.
