Prepare client samples and perform test work as a Laboratory Technician using crushing, sieving, and sample-splitting equipment. Work within ALS’s Sample Preparation and Comminution Department.

This General Labour Technician position supports sample preparation and comminution activities at ALS. You will use Ro-Tap, Gilson screens, jaw crushers, cone crushers, Bond rod mills, and ball mills. The work also includes supervised testing, screen analysis, compositing instructions, and electronic sample database tasks. Accurate procedures, schedules, and analytical quality remain essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sieve, crush, homogenize, and split client samples
- Complete test work using Bond rod and ball mills




- Perform supervised work with specified testing equipment
- Maintain production logs, conduct inspections, and complete cleaning
- Follow laboratory safety policies and established procedures

Requirements:

- Grade 12 diploma
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Valuable communication, organization, and hand-coordination skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Forklift licence or experience preferred
