It oversees Certified Professional projects, reviews complex plans, and coordinates Project Coordinators. Key Responsibilities: Authorize building permit issuance under the Building By-law

Interpret codes for projects and resolve applicant questions

Manage Certified Skilled projects and review complex plans

Analyze Alternative Solutions with Chief Building Official staff





Advise inspection, fire, health, and engineering staff

Requirements: Degree in architecture or civil or mechanical engineering

Professional Engineer or Architect registration eligibility in British Columbia

Considerable plans examination and Building By-law interpretation experience

Knowledge of BC Building Code, fire protection codes, and standards

Leadership, mentoring, supervisory, and communication skills

Support Vancouver permitting through Building By-law expertise, complex plans examination, Certified Professional oversight, and clear technical guidance.
