Security Guard - Patrol at Law Society Of Ontario

Site Overview

The Law Society of Ontario is responsible for regulating lawyers and paralegals across the province from its downtown Toronto site. This location provides a high-profile, qualified environment where our security team plays a critical role in safeguarding staff, visitors, and property.

What You'll Be Doing

Perform regular interior and exterior patrol rounds, documenting site conditions, weather reports, and potential safety concerns.

Monitor security consoles, including access control systems, secure elevators, and CCTV screens.

Verify employee and visitor credentials, issuing access cards and keys as authorized.

Conduct parking enforcement, including tagging or towing unauthorized vehicles and dispatching snow removal contractors when needed.

Lock and unlock doors according to established schedules.

Respond to security incidents, assist with managing aggressive visitors using de-escalation techniques, and provide professional customer service.

Escort emergency contractors across the property when required.

Follow standard operating procedures to handle and secure found illicit substances or weapons.

Document all daily occurrences, complete detailed incident reports, and manage lost-and-found items.

Must Haves

Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C Certification

Minimum of 1 year of security experience

Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination

Legal authorization to work in Canada

Proficiency in English, both spoken and written

Nice-to-Haves

Prior experience operating security monitoring consoles and CCTV systems

Strong customer service and de-escalation skills
