Build clinical and research experience as a Clinical and Research Extern at Michael Garron Hospital in a hybrid role. Apply nursing skills across patient care and innovation projects.

This extern role splits time between clinical units and the Nursing Innovation Program. You will provide supervised patient care while developing nursing knowledge, research abilities, and quality improvement competencies. The position supports patients, families, and interprofessional teams at MGH.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist patients with hygiene, toileting, meals, and ambulation
- Measure vital signs, assessments, intake, output, and weight
- Support patient safety, communication, transportation, and positioning
- Conduct literature reviews, transcription, recruitment, and data collection




- Prepare research materials, reports, meetings, and presentations

Requirements:

- Enroll in an eligible nursing program or await registration examination
- Complete at least one in-person clinical placement
- Hold current Basic Life Support certification
- Understand infection control, emergency codes, and workplace safety requirements
- Work scheduled weekends, nights, and diverse shifts

Support patient-focused care and Nursing Innovation Program projects through safe clinical practice, communication, and research participation.
