Colonial Countertops is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Stone Machine Operator to join our Kelowna production team.

In this hands-on role, you will program, set up and operate CNC equipment to cut and shape stone countertops accurately and efficiently. You will play an key part in maintaining product quality, maximizing material use and keeping jobs moving smoothly through production.

What You’ll Do

- Read and interpret work orders, CAD files, blueprints and production documents.
- Program, set up, calibrate and operate CNC stone-processing equipment.
- Set up router tools, lasers, stoppers and machining sequences.
- Monitor cutting and machining processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Confirm that finished pieces meet job measurements, specifications and quality standards.
- Maximize slab utilization while maintaining pattern and colour consistency.
- Program, cut, label and organize backsplash pieces and usable remnants.
- Safely move stone slabs using overhead cranes, lifting equipment and vacuum lift systems.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, defects and quality of workmanship.
- Unload completed pieces and transfer them to polishing or the next production stage.
- Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Keep machines and surrounding work areas clean, safe and organized.
- Communicate job details, material concerns and production updates to the team.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Support the production team with other duties when required.

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience operating CNC machinery or stone-cutting equipment.
- Experience in stone countertop fabrication is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD files, blueprints,



measurements and production paperwork.
- Strong computer skills and confidence learning production software.
- Solid mathematical and measurement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong attendance, punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 100 lbs safely.
- Commitment to workplace safety; WHMIS certification is required or must be completed.

Working Conditions This is a physically active shop position involving stone slabs, industrial machinery, overhead cranes, vacuum lifting equipment, noise, dust and wet production areas. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all equipment-specific and shop safety procedures.

Experience:
- Operating CNC machinery or stone-cutting equipment: 1 year (preferred)
- Working in manufacturing environment: 1 year (preferred)
