Position Overview
We are currently seeking safety-conscious, quality-driven CNC Operators to join our production team at our Acheson facility. These are full time unionized positions for day and afternoon shift (Monday to Thursday, 10 hour shifts).
This role is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Beamline and/or CNC Plasma Table equipment to produce high-quality steel components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and company quality standards. The successful candidate will be experienced in handling structural steel materials, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, and contributing to a secure and efficient production environment.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC Plasma and/or CNC Beamline equipment
- Experience working with various grades of steel plate
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Ability to learn recent processes and equipment quickly
- Reliable transportation to Acheson,
as public transit options are limited
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Beamline and/or CNC Plasma Table equipment
- Produce quality parts in accordance with drawings, specifications, and company quality requirements
- Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move steel materials
- Verify dimensions and quality of finished components
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices
Supreme Steel offers a competitive wage and benefit package as per the collective agreement. Successful candidates will be required to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, as well as Physical Fitness to Work Mobility Testing as a condition of employment. Reliable transportation to the facility in Acheson is also required, as there is limited public transit.
