Categories: Allied Health Professionals Location(s): Owen Sound Types: Full Time CLASSIFICATION: ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING SERVICES POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – HPD STATUS: FULL TIME REASON TO POST: NEW POSITION WAGE RATE: $38.80 – $52.91 Reporting to the Director, Facilities Management, the Engineering Technologist provides technical development and support for the operation, maintenance and improvement of complex building systems and hospital equipment utilizing a variety of computer-based control and asset management systems for all sites at Brightshores Health System.

The Engineering

Technologist also researches and applies a wide range of standards, codes and regulations to policy and procedure development, energy management and building performance.

Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities: ~3 or 4 year degree or diploma in engineering, building or computer science or related field ~5 years’ recent experience in utilizing computer systems and applications to support complex building system maintenance and operations. ~ Ability to research and develop policy and procedures from a wide range of standards, regulations, building and fire codes, technical literature and manufacturers data.



~ Demonstrated systems development experience, process engineering and quality control. ~ Demonstrated advanced skills in data base, spreadsheet and word processing applications. ~ Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. ~ Ability and willingness to continually upgrade technical skills. ~ Availability for overtime and flexibility in hours of work. ~ Availability to travel to off-site and international training. ~ Valid Driver’s License and use of vehicle to support sites. ~ Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records ~ Demonstrate, promote and encourage Brightshores’ values – We Show Up for Each Other, We Are Trusted to Act, We Create Solutions Together, We Strive for Better, We Share Accountability ~ Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes ~ Comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures and regulations, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
