WE’RE LOOKING FOR A CARING CAREGIVER — CANMORE & BANFF, AB

Are you a kind, compassionate, reliable person who truly enjoys helping others?

We’re looking for a caregiver / Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team and provide in-home care to clients in the Canmore & Banff area.

-30+ hours per week

-Start date: November 1st 2026 or sooner

-Reliable vehicle required — you will be travelling to clients' homes

-Preference given to someone living in Canmore or Banff

Required qualifications/documents:

- CPR Certification PSW,
- Health Care Aide, caregiving, or related certification
- WHMIS Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid driver's licence & reliable vehicle
- SIN & appropriate work authorization Vaccination records & current TB test

Responsibilities

- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Support medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.




- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a protected environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive atmosphere for clients.
- Help with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety at all times.
- Document care activities accurately and communicate any changes in health or behavior to supervisors or healthcare professionals.

Skills

- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on senior care, dementia care, hospice care, or disabilities support.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical tasks involved in caregiving.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs or neurological conditions such as dementia.
- Flexibility to adapt to different care routines and environments while maintaining professionalism.
