Part-Time Custom Orthotics Opportunity — Brampton, Ontario

Vital Devices is an established orthopedic footwear and medical device business in Brampton seeking a Registered Chiropodist to establish and develop an onsite custom foot orthotics service.

We have an existing client base and growing demand for custom orthotics. Our established relationship with laboratories provides access to custom fabrication services and a digital 3D foot-scanning workflow.

This opportunity offers flexible clinic sessions, administrative support and the opportunity to develop a patient base within an established business.

The opportunity

We anticipate approximately 5–15 initial assessment patients every two weeks, with additional appointments for fitting, dispensing and follow-up. Scheduling will be agreed with the practitioner and expanded as demand develops.

The initial focus will be clinical foot examinations, biomechanical assessments and custom orthotics. Additional chiropody services may be considered based on the practitioner’s interests and the facilities required.

Responsibilities

- Perform clinical foot examinations and determine whether custom orthotics, alternative treatment or referral is appropriate.
- Conduct biomechanical assessments, gait analysis and footwear evaluations where clinically indicated.
- Issue custom orthotics prescriptions and supporting clinical documentation when appropriate.
- Perform or oversee foot casting or digital 3D scanning and prepare patient-specific orthotic specifications.
- Coordinate fabrication with Atlas Orthotics and review completed devices.
- Fit and dispense orthotics, assess their function in the patient’s footwear and provide wear-in and care instructions.
- Provide follow-up assessments and arrange adjustments or remakes when necessary.
- Maintain complete clinical records, informed consent and appropriate privacy safeguards.
- Establish and communicate professional examination and assessment fees and ensure accurate billing for services provided.
- Provide documentation supporting insurance claims,



consistent with professional standards and each patient’s plan requirements.

Qualifications

- Current registration in good standing as a Chiropodist with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
- Professional liability insurance meeting applicable requirements.
- Competence in clinical foot examinations, biomechanics, custom orthotic prescribing, fitting and dispensing.
- Strong clinical documentation, communication and patient-care skills.
- Experience with digital scanning and orthotics laboratories is an asset.

Newly registered chiropodists with suitable clinical training are welcome to apply.

Compensation and practice arrangement

We are open to discussing a versatile part-time arrangement, including compensation per completed assessment, fitting and follow-up, or agreed clinic-session compensation.

Assessment work will be compensated independently of whether an orthotic purchase results. The practitioner will retain independent clinical judgment over assessment, prescribing and treatment decisions.

Professional examination and assessment charges will be identified separately where appropriate. Insurance reimbursement remains subject to each patient’s benefit plan. The final practice and billing arrangement will be agreed in accordance with applicable professional requirements.
