Maintenance Technician - Pack Hall Equipment Maintenance Full Time King City, ON $38 - $43 CAD per hour Haven Greens is leading the way in sustainable agriculture by revolutionizing leafy greens production with advanced, fully automated greenhouse technology. Based in King City, Ontario, our cutting-edge facilities use renewable energy and Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) practices to deliver fresh, locally grown cut baby leaf lettuce year-round. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of farming and minimizing long-haul transportation.
Our team is fast-paced, team-oriented, and driven by a mission to transform how fresh food gets to market.
The Maintenance
Technician - Pack Hall Equipment is Haven Greens' internal specialist for the mechanical, electrical, and controls systems that keep our harvesting and pack hall equipment running: the Green Automation harvesting and mixing system, the Ishida multi-basket weighing system and tray filler, the Multivac TX815 tray sealer, metal detector and weigh verification equipment, as well as associated case-handling and palletizing equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role works alongside the broader maintenance team and closely with Production to keep this equipment running reliably, troubleshoot issues quickly, and reduce unplanned downtime on the line. This role focuses on the automation, controls, and mechanical complexity of packaging and harvest equipment and operates within a narrower scope than the Maintenance Electrician.
The position is not Haven Greens' licensed electrical authority and does not include ESA-regulated electrical work. However, the ideal candidate brings electrician-level troubleshooting skills and a genuine aptitude for controls and automation, whether or not they hold a formal trade licence. While this position is primarily focused on pack hall and harvest equipment, the successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively with the broader maintenance team and demonstrate a willingness to assist with other maintenance activities and equipment across the facility as operational needs require.
We are a seven day a week facility so this role will also include weekend shifts which is currently required, there is room in the future to adjust shifts as we move forward. Serve as the maintenance team's day-to-day specialist for pack hall and harvest equipment, including the Green Automation harvesting/mixing system, Ishida multi-basket weighing system and tray filler, Multivac TX815 tray sealer, and automated case/palletizing equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on this equipment, diagnosing root cause and completing repairs to minimize production downtime.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and calibration on harvest and packaging equipment according to established PM schedules, and support changeovers, setups, and teardowns between production runs. Read and work from electrical schematics, PLC/controls documentation, and OEM technical manuals to diagnose faults and guide repairs. Escalate ESA-regulated electrical work, licensed-scope repairs, and major installations to the Maintenance Electrician or an outside licensed contractor.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, parts usage, and equipment status in the CMMS. Track and maintain spare parts inventory for pack hall equipment, flagging parts and materials needed for upcoming work. Collaborate with Production and the broader maintenance team to plan maintenance windows that minimize disruption to harvest and packing schedules.
Recommend improvements to equipment reliability, changeover efficiency, and preventive maintenance practices based on hands-on experience with the line. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned in support of evolving operational requirements.
