Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant/Tax Preparer to support clients with accurate accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation services. This role is suited to a qualified who can manage financial records, interpret financial information, and provide dependable service while handling sensitive data with care.

Duties

- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, ensuring information is complete and records are properly organized.
- Maintain accurate books and financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage.
- Manage accounts payable, record transactions, and perform account reconciliation.
- Support payroll processing and maintain related documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis of income, expenses, and account activity.
- Help with auditing and review procedures by gathering records, checking entries, and identifying discrepancies.
- Provide bookkeeping and financial services support to clients, including clear explanations of accounting records and tax-related documentation.




- Handle financial information confidentially and meet applicable filing deadlines.

Qualifications

- Experience in accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping, or a related financial services role.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, accounting software, accounts payable, account reconciliation, and payroll.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or Sage; experience with multiple platforms is an advantage.
- Strong analysis skills and the ability to review financial records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Knowledge of budgeting and auditing practices.
- Ability to organize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate professionally with clients.
- Careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to protecting confidential information.
- Experience with investment-related records is a plus.

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
