Lead saw filing operations at West Fraser’s Manning, Alberta division using precision equipment, saw maintenance, and safety expertise. This full time role supports production targets. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Head Sawfiler leads the Saw Filing Department. The position suits candidates experienced in sawmills, planer mills, wood remanufacturing, or forest products.

Responsibilities span saw design, equipment calibration, quality control, and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Saw Filing Department with limited supervision
- Maintain workplace and saw filing safety standards
- Inspect, maintain, and calibrate precision equipment
- Design saws and calculate speeds and feeds
- Troubleshoot saw defects and manage lubrication Requirements:
- Experience benching round saws and band saws
- Knowledge of saw, guide, and chipping knife servicing
- Understanding of sawmill machinery preventive maintenance
- Ability to supervise all saw maintenance activities
- Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Sawfiler Certification preferred Bring saw filing leadership, precision equipment expertise, and maintenance knowledge to West Fraser’s Manning operation in Alberta.
