Civil Construction Foreman – Underground Utilities & Site Servicing

Highroad Excavating is hiring experienced Civil Construction Foremen for projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

We’re looking for people who know civil construction and know how to run a job.

If you can read the plans, organize a crew, anticipate what’s coming next, keep production moving and deal with field issues without needing someone to constantly tell you what to do, we’d like to talk to you.

Highroad is an established Lower Mainland civil contractor with steady work, experienced crews and a strong pipeline of projects.

Our foremen are expected to take ownership of their work. You’ll have support from our Project Managers and Superintendents, but we want experienced people who are comfortable making decisions in the field and running their crews properly.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading civil crews completing work such as:

- Underground utilities and site servicing
- Storm, sanitary and watermain installation
- Excavation and trenching
- Roadworks and grading
- Civil earthworks and site development
- Coordination of operators, pipe layers and labourers
- Equipment, material and delivery coordination
- Working from civil drawings, grades and specifications
- Daily planning and production
- Coordination with Project Managers, Superintendents, inspectors and other trades
- Maintaining quality and safety standards
- Identifying field issues and developing practical solutions

Who We're Looking For

This position is intended for someone with strong hands-on civil construction experience.

You should be comfortable:

- Leading and organizing a civil construction crew




- Running underground utility and site-servicing work
- Reading civil drawings and understanding grades and elevations
- Planning work ahead rather than reacting to problems as they happen
- Coordinating equipment, materials and manpower
- Communicating clearly with your crew and the project team
- Holding people accountable while maintaining a good jobsite
- Taking responsibility for the quality and production of your work

Previous Foreman experience is preferred, but we’re also willing to speak with an experienced civil crew lead or senior pipe layer who has the knowledge and leadership ability to take the next step.

Compensation: $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience.
