This isn't your typical plant-based Millwright position. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your service territory, work directly with customers across multiple industries, and tackle a wide variety of mechanical and electrical challenges. From troubleshooting critical equipment breakdowns to completing preventative maintenance and installing compressed air systems, no two days will look exactly the same. You'll work primarily independently in the field, supported by an experienced technical team, service coordinators, and sales professionals who are committed to your success. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with compressor experience who wants to combine technical expertise, customer service, and autonomy while contributing to the growth of an established business.
Key Responsibilities
As the Service Technician | Millwright, you will work collaboratively and be responsible for:
1. Field Service, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Respond to customer service calls, equipment breakdowns, and emergency maintenance requests, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and start-up services to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Install compressed air piping systems and assist with new equipment installations.
- Conduct compressed air audits and surveys, with training provided.
- Complete in-house equipment assessments, repairs, and rebuilds as required.
2. Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted technical resource for customers, providing clear communication, skilled service, and practical equipment solutions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, maintenance teams, and site personnel.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and support customers' evolving operational needs.
- Collaborate with territory sales representatives to communicate potential equipment, service, and project opportunities.
- Provide technical assistance and recommendations to customers and internal sales teams.
- Represent SKEANS professionally, ensuring every customer interaction reflects the company's commitment to quality and service excellence.
3. Service Coordination & Documentation
- Collaborate with the Regional Service Coordinator to organize service calls, confirm job scopes, and ensure the necessary parts and equipment are available.
- Complete accurate electronic work orders, including labour hours, parts used, service findings, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records and communicate completed work to support timely customer invoicing.
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding customer quotations, warranty assessments, and service agreements.
- Maintain an organized service schedule and communicate progress, challenges, and changing customer priorities.
- Participate in regular service team meetings and contribute to effective planning and collaboration.
4. Safety, Equipment Care & Team Collaboration
- Perform all work in accordance with company safety procedures and customer-specific site requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company service vehicle and work environment.
- Work independently at customer locations while knowing when to collaborate with technical specialists and internal team members.
- Support service projects throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba, including occasional assignments outside the primary territory.
- Participate in technical training and career development opportunities to expand equipment knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Provide after-hours and emergency technical support when required.
