Quality Document Control – PVC Extrusion Manufacturing

Job Description

UB Personnel Inc., a staffing and recruitment agency, is currently hiring a Quality Document Control professional for our client, an established PVC extrusion manufacturing company located in Woodbridge, Ontario.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual with experience in manufacturing quality control, quality documentation, and product inspection.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards, technical drawings, dimensional measurements, and quality assurance procedures, preferably within the PVC extrusion or plastics manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, maintain, and update quality control documents, product specifications, engineering drawings, and quality assurance records.
- Maintain the Change Control System and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of PVC extruded products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Inspect products for dimensional accuracy, visual defects, colour consistency, impact resistance, and other quality requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications.
- Use measuring and testing equipment such as calipers, measuring tapes, scales, colour meters, and impact testers.
- Ensure quality documentation complies with ASTM and AAMA standards.
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming products and manufacturing defects.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits, including AAMA audits.
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformance reports.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain calibration records and perform calibration of quality inspection equipment.




- Set up new product profiles in the PLV (Digital Optical Comparator) system.
- Maintain the Return Material Authorization (RMA) system.
- Prepare monthly quality reports and communicate results to production supervisors.
- Work closely with production operators and the Quality Assurance team to support continuous improvement.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of industrial or manufacturing laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience in PVC extrusion, plastic extrusion, or plastics manufacturing is a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality inspection and testing procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with dimensional measuring equipment and quality testing tools.
- Knowledge of ASTM and AAMA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience maintaining quality documentation and change control records.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drawings is preferred.
- Experience with quality management software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing setting.
