Part-Time Casual Support Worker

A family is seeking an energetic, reliable, and motivated Support Worker to work with a young adult with a disability. This role is ideal for someone who is outgoing, active, creative, and passionate about helping others build confidence, independence, and community involvement.

The successful candidate will act as both a mentor and support person, encouraging participation in recreational, social, educational, and employment-related opportunities.

Responsibilities

- Support and encourage participation in community activities and social outings
- Research and plan fun activities, events, and experiences in the region
- Attend festivals, concerts, sporting events, and recreational activities
- Participate in and encourage physical activities and sports
- Assist with attending certification classes, workshops, job fairs, and other career-building opportunities
- Promote independence, confidence, and social engagement
- Provide transportation and community support as needed
- Be proactive in creating ideas and opportunities without requiring constant direction
- Act as a positive role model and mentor

- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is an asset, but not required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Position Details

- Part time casual hours
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 5.0 per week
