About the Prospect

We are recruiting on behalf of an established financial services organization for a Paralegal / Legal Assistant II to support a short-term project involving loan documentation, secured collateral filings, and legal records management.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented legal professional with experience reviewing financing documents, identifying PPSA and/or UCC filings, and maintaining accurate records in Excel.

The position is primarily independent and back-office, with limited external interaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Review loan, financing, deal, and collateral documentation.
- Identify and validate Canadian PPSA and/or U.S. UCC filings.
- Extract key filing information and maintain accurate Excel tracking logs.
- Prepare and update reports to support collateral tracking and project deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal legal, lending, and operations teams as needed.
- Maintain organized records and ensure information is captured accurately.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience in a legal, paralegal, law clerk, loan documentation, or secured lending environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian PPSA and/or U.S. UCC filings.
- Experience reviewing legal, loan, financing, or collateral documents.




- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Diploma in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant, or Law Clerk, or equivalent legal education.
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Background in commercial lending, secured lending, or collateral management.
- Exposure to both Canadian and U.S. collateral filing processes.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
