Senior Accountant, Project Financial Reporting

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Our client, a large organization with multiple concurrent projects, is seeking a Senior Accountant, Project Financial Reporting. This position offers hands-on involvement throughout the project lifecycle, combining budgeting, financial reporting, and collaboration with Project Managers to support accurate project results.

Key Responsibilities
Establish project budgets and accounting structures, ensuring accurate setup and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare project reporting, including percentage-of-completion calculations, revenue recognition, and related accounting entries.
Review budgets, actual costs, commitments, and forecasts with Project Managers.
Investigate variances, identify financial risks, and work with project teams to address changes affecting costs and profitability.
Maintain accurate estimates to complete and forecasts of final project results.
Complete project-related month-end accounting, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Support project closeouts and strengthen budgeting, reporting, and accounting processes.

Qualifications

Relevant accounting experience within a larger organization managing multiple concurrent projects.
Hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, from initial budgeting through ongoing reporting and closeout.
Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting, project costing, and variance analysis.




Ability to work closely with Project Managers, challenge assumptions, and communicate financial results clearly.
Experience with infrastructure or similarly complex, large-scale projects will be given priority.
Public company exposure would be an asset.
Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP or project accounting systems.
This position requires full time attendance in the office. Compensation within the $75,000–$95,000 range will be determined based on relevant experience.
