Main Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for detail-oriented tasks. Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency in the department while providing superior guest service. This position is responsible for maintaining open communication on the status of the department with the Store Directors, Clerks, and Supervisor. Will be expected to set and re-set priorities, distinguish between the urgent and the important, solve problems, hold and reconcile ideas and lead program development as well as advancement strategies from conception through cultivation to completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensures clerks exemplify superior guest service with a friendly, helpful, and courteous attitude, using product knowledge and information to answer all questions guests may have about products.

· Monitoring dates on all products and properly rotating stock.





· Contribute to and ensure achievement of proper Bakery conditions by maintaining production standards and proper product levels.

· Move empty milk crates into the designated area.

· Receive and unload the Bakery Department truck – All perishable products must be put into the proper temperature as quickly as possible.

· Regularly check temperatures in coolers and display cases to ensure proper temperature is maintained.

· Stock merchandise and maintain clean shelves at all times.

· Rotate product to company standards.

· Maximizing sales through excellent guest service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of procedures.

· Maintain ordering and inventory control.

· Maintain proper receiving and storage of product.

· Maintain variety and layout standards set by the company.

· Engage and interact with guests to create a positive shopping experience.

· Build and maintain and Bakery displays per direction given by Department Manager or Store Director.

· Understand and adhere to company safety guidelines and standard practices.

· Perform other duties as required to ensure productive store operations.

· Maintain and improve quality assurance, food safety and sanitation standards by periodically checking expiry dates and dealing with damages and returned goods.

· Assists with other duties as assigned.





Working Conditions:

· Able to work in cold food areas

· Ability to bend, twist, and squat, and do repetitive tasks.

· Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Bakery Associates perform their duties primarily in the Bakery department, refrigerator, freezer and in the back room. They may be exposed to various temperatures and work environments. Work involves walking and standing, and lifting, moving, carrying, and stocking product. The position requires frequent interactions with customers and fellow associates.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 23 kg or 50 lbs.

· Ability to stand for eight hours.

· Operate equipment, including using a ladder.

· Needs to possess steel-toed safety boots and work in a safe manner in accordance with company policies.
