Temporary Medical Laboratory Technician / Laboratory Assistant Are you an experienced laboratory professional with strong phlebotomy and specimen processing expertise? We are partnering with a healthcare organization in Toronto seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations during a short-term contract assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys contributing to quality patient care through accurate testing, documentation, and laboratory support activities.

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using established laboratory and safety protocols. Process biological samples, including labeling, preparation, centrifugation, and distribution for testing. Maintain accurate records of patient information, specimens, and test results.

Conduct routine quality control and quality assurance activities to support laboratory standards. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, performing basic troubleshooting when required. Support inventory management, ordering, and laboratory supply organization.

Prepare samples for internal testing and external laboratory submissions.



Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized laboratory workplace. Perform specialized immunoassay testing using ECLIA and ELISA methodologies.

Completion of a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Assistant, or related healthcare laboratory program. At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. Prior experience working in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting is preferred.

Knowledge of laboratory quality standards, specimen handling procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated healthcare environment.
