Position: 3rd or 4th year Apprentice, or Journeyman Plumber as Geothermal Technician

Location: Calgary, but must be willing to travel for out-of-town projects

Thermal Creek Ltd. is looking for a plumber with at least 3-years experience to be part of the growing geothermal installation division of its business.

Thermal Creek was founded in 2006 in Calgary, AB and specializes in design, installation and servicing of geothermal heating & cooling systems. Our work is commercial and residential.

We are looking for a plumber who shares a passion for sustainability and renewable energy.

Primary goal of the position: The ultimate goal is that the successful candidate will be able to perform the geothermal installations (excluding vertical portion). This means all outside pipe fitting (fusion) and mechanical room plumbing and commissioning of the system. You will work under the direction of an experienced site foreman, and your tasks include Solder/fuse pipe, assist with any other tasks required. You are able to read building plans and specifications to determine the layout for the plumbing and other materials. You are able to adhere to and improve where possible, our in-house quality, safety and internal policy & procedures, standards and/or specifications.

In particular, we are looking for the following skills:

- Must be a 3rd, 4th year registered Apprentice or Journeyman plumber.

- Must have a driver’s license with clean drivers abstract.





- Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position.

- Excellent verbal and communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

- Outstanding customer service skills.

- Experience in Refrigeration, HVAC, Electricity, and Mechanics are an asset.

- Able to read and work off blue-prints.

- Experience with Geothermal heating & cooling systems (not required, but a big plus).

- Experience with hydronic heating installations.

- Experience with HDPE fusion is a huge plus. Ideally has a current HDPE Fusion ticket.

- Is comfortable in both residential and commercial construction site settings.

- Is energetic and not afraid to work outside in the field.

- Willingness to learn is crucial!
