Location: Abbotsford, BC — Fully on-site

Compensation: Up to $125,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus and company perks

Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple business units. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position combines hands-on financial oversight with staff management and development.
This is an excellent next step for a CPA with at least two years of post-designation experience, a background in an industrial environment, and a commitment to developing the team they lead.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple business units.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with ASPE.
Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing insight into business performance.
Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
Coordinate year-end working papers and support external accountant requests.
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, investing in their growth and building a collaborative team.
Partner with the VP of Finance and operational leaders to support business priorities.

Qualifications

CPA designation with at least two years of post-designation experience in a similar role.
Accounting experience within an industrial environment.




Strong knowledge of ASPE and hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
Experience supporting multiple business units or operational functions.
Staff management experience and a demonstrated interest in coaching and developing others.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work fully on-site in Abbotsford.
