At Code Ninjas North Edmonton, we teach kids ages 5–14 how to code by building their own video games. Our dojo is a structured, high-energy environment focused on building confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Who This Role Is Perfect For
We are specifically looking for:
- Education students
- Drama or performing arts students
- High school students (Grade 11/12) or university students who enjoy working with kids
No coding experience required. We provide full training.
We hire based on personality, energy, and reliability above all else.
What You’ll Do
- Guide kids through fun, game-based coding activities
- Encourage and support students when they get stuck
- Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning setting
- Build relationships with students and families over time
- Share simple progress updates with parents
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and people skills
- Positive, energetic, and patient personality
- Comfortable leading and engaging with kids
- Reliable and consistent with scheduling
Bonus (not required):
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching,
or performing
Schedule & Commitment
- Part-time (weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays)
- Minimum 2 shifts per week required
- Consistent schedule expected (same shifts each week)
We prioritize instructors who can commit to a regular schedule, as building rapport with students is a key part of the role.
Applicants with limited availability or inconsistent schedules may not be considered.
Compensation
$15 – $20 per hour, based on experience
