Foreseeson Technology Inc. is a multifaceted, award-winning technology innovator providing electronic manufacturing, IT security distribution, electric vehicle charging equipment, and Intelligent software platforms for EV Charger and Energy Management System. About the Project Foreseeson Technology Inc. is developing a modular Energy Storage System (ESS) using high-voltage battery packs. The system combines battery management, power conversion, embedded control, charging and discharging coordination, and local and cloud-connected monitoring.

The project includes the evaluation and integration of power conversion equipment, with an emphasis on safe operation, independent battery control, efficient energy flow, modularity, and future product certification. Foreseeson is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to develop, evaluate, integrate, and validate the power conversion architecture required for the ESS prototype and its future commercial configurations. Contract 1 year, with potential for contract extension or permanent/full-time Develop and evaluate the power electronics architecture connecting battery packs, DC-DC converters, charging and power distribution modules, inverter, and AC input/output interfaces.

Define electrical requirements for voltage ranges, current limits, power ratings, conversion efficiency, operating modes, and protection coordination. Assess suitable unidirectional and bidirectional DC-DC converter topologies for interfacing individual battery packs with the system DC bus. Evaluate off-the-shelf power conversion equipment and assess its suitability for the intended electrical, control, communication, safety, and certification requirements.

Collaborate with the Senior Electrical Engineer and Embedded Systems Engineer to define converter interfaces, control signals, telemetry, and fault-handling requirements. Evaluate charger and power distribution modules, considering compatibility, efficiency, cost, and integration risks. Evaluate charging and discharge power limits, current sharing, converter operating windows, and battery-specific constraints.

Develop test plans for converter performance, battery-side and DC-bus behaviour, transient response, protection functions, and thermal performance. Investigate power-flow coordination strategies that support independent battery control and productive system operation. Verify compatibility between the inverter, battery-side converters, system controller, AC inputs, and downstream loads.

Electrical

Protection, Safety, and Thermal Performance Define and evaluate power electronics protection requirements, including overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, short-circuit, overtemperature, and abnormal operating conditions. Coordinate isolation, grounding, pre-charge, contactor sequencing, emergency shutdown, and fault-response requirements with the electrical and embedded systems teams. Evaluate semiconductor and converter thermal performance, cooling requirements, derating, and component operating limits.

Apply high-voltage laboratory safety procedures when conducting power conversion tests. Support electrical hazard assessments, DFMEA, risk reduction, and system-level safety reviews. Contribute to the technical preparation required for applicable CSA, UL, IEC, and utility-interconnection assessments.

Simulation, Prototype Testing, and Validation Use circuit simulation and engineering analysis tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent to assess converter performance and operating behaviour. Conduct or support bench and system-level testing using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, current and voltage probes, and suitable high-voltage test equipment. Measure and analyze conversion efficiency, voltage/current regulation, ripple, transient response, power quality,

and thermal performance.

Troubleshoot integration problems involving battery packs, converters, charging equipment, inverter, and control interfaces. Document test methods, measured results, technical risks, design changes, and recommendations. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely related discipline.

A master's degree is an asset. At least three years of professional experience in power electronics engineering. Demonstrated experience in low-voltage and/or high-voltage electrical system design and integration.

Experience with energy storage system design, integration, testing, or commissioning. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, component datasheets, and technical standards. Ability to prepare technical reports, test documentation, and engineering specifications.

Experience with bidirectional DC-DC converters, bidirectional AC-DC converters, battery inverters, or grid-connected energy storage systems.

Experience with high-voltage battery packs, battery-level power conversion, contactors, pre-charge circuits, and electrical isolation.

Experience with UL/IEC certification processes for battery systems, inverters, or power electronics equipment. Hands-on laboratory testing experience using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and high-voltage safety equipment. Familiarity with thermal management, component derating, cooling design, and enclosure integration for power electronics.

Experience with three-phase AC systems, power quality, grid-interconnection requirements, and backup-power operation.
