Design datacenter-scale software in Ottawa with C++, firmware, and system bring-up expertise. This in-person position owns development from concept through production.

As a Principal Software Engineer at Broadcom, you will deliver ultra-high-performance software and firmware for complex multiprocessor architectures. Your work may span OpenBMC, ZephyrOS, embedded Linux, Yocto builds, device drivers, microcode, and upper-level control software. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and partner teams.

Key Responsibilities: Own software and firmware designs from concept through production delivery

Develop drivers, microcode, firmware, and control software

Support customer trials and resolve field issues

Drive validation, testing,



and automation activities

Collaborate across interdisciplinary and partner engineering teams

Requirements: Experience developing C++ or C for datacenter architectures

Experience with Linux, Yocto, OpenBMC, or ZephyrOS

Expertise in silicon, board, and system bring-up

Knowledge of low-level interfaces and management protocols

Bachelor's engineering degree and 12+ years' experience

Bring principal-level C++, firmware, debugging, and lifecycle ownership expertise to Broadcom's Ottawa datacenter systems team.
