Viamede Resort, on the shores of beautiful Stoney Lake, is looking for a Resort Operations Manager to assist with day-to-day operations of all aspects of the resort.

Viamede is a busy cottage resort in the summer, with families coming back year after year for their annual cottage escape. We have many activities, from guided paddles to wine tastings, for all ages and interests.

In the spring and fall, Viamede's focus is on events, such as weddings and corporate retreats, while in the winter, the focus is on maintenance, planning, and occasional stretches of being busy with guests.

The job itself

You would be reporting to the General Manager, and helping to ensure that all elements of day-to-day operations go smoothly. Since Viamede has a small team, this is a hands-on job that is focused on being "on the floor". Depending on the time of year, this can include serving lunch or dinner in the restaurants, checking in guests, running the floor for a wedding, organizing the housekeeping for the day.... or even guiding paddles for guests, saving someone who flipped a canoe, or walking the resort dog.

At all times,

this would be a leadership role - while serving lunch, you would be keeping an eye on the flow of service and having an easy conversation with someone about remembering to put ketchup on the table before the food arrives. Or while inspecting rooms before a guest arrives, you would be noting that one particular housekeeper misses something, and you'd mention it to them.

This also includes administrative work, like helping with administering group blocks for corporate events, helping with marketing like social media, and generally doing whatever is needed throughout the resort.

They would also be able to show experience in administration and organization.

An interest in the outdoors, like hiking, paddling, birding, or similar would be helpful.
