Operations Manager (Markham) - Full job description

SUMMARY :The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all areas are functioning to deliver quality product on time and on budget to customers. Beginning with managing customer quotes then the production planning and finally shipping on time. This is a critical position and will directly oversee the inside sales team, the production floor and quality Departments. The position reports to the Vice President of Operations, and works closely with the VP of Sales/Inside Sales Manager, will take ownership of a profit and loss while working in a matrix responsibility setting, supported by other areas within in the company..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Responsible for all aspects of the business’ functions; quoting, production, quality to shipping.
- Adhere and instill safe work practices while ensuring we meet our customers’ expectations of on-time delivery and the highest quality standards.
- Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties and tasks. Ensure projects are resourced and monitor progress through successful completion. Effective communication and proper documentation with the customer is essential.
- Train employees on standard processes, determining and assessing level of skill, to accommodate the fluctuation in customer demands
- Assign duties to employees, checking their activities at regular intervals to ensure quality and on time delivery as to timelines and cost budgets.




- Assist in assigning priorities to the teams and monitoring the completion and quality of shipping and projects with key performance indicators.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Drive first time quality and build products to company/customer specifications.
- Monitor employee productivity while providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with team leads to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Working with HR for the recruiting, hiring, training, development, and disciplinary actions of branch personnel, ultimately becoming employer of choice retaining top talent.
- Executing annual budgets, forecasts, and plans in alignment with the Companies strategic goals.
- Key contributor on the Company’s executive leadership team, focused on the strategic objectives, and delivering exceptional results.

Management Responsibilities :The General Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination, of individuals within their team. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance. The General Manager is the driving force for top quality achievement in all areas within the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree or 15 years of Operations management experience with supervisory responsibility in industrial or electrical manufacturing market.
- Previous experience managing an inside sales team.
- Good understanding of and experience with managing production processes and utilizing ERP systems.
- Experience with production of electrical isolation and insulation is preferred
- Good understanding of and experience with managing production processes and utilizing ERP systems

LANGUAGE SKILLS

- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with the English language, written and spoken.

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
