We are looking for a full-time permanent sales & customer service person to join our company.

We are a small business that sells mechanical and deck equipment to public municipal pools across Canada. Our customer base is municipalities, CFB’s, YW/YMCA’s. We have been in business since 1974 and have an established & loyal customer and supplier base.

A core sector of our business is swimming pool mechanical room equipment. Things like circulation pumps, chemical feed pumps, filters, chemical controllers, VFD’s UV systems etc. Therefore, we are looking for somebody who either already has mechanical knowledge or experience and/or the aptitude to learn about this type of product to effectively promote, sell and support.

Basic criteria : Full time, permanent. Monday -Friday and a few (3-4 a year) tradeshows that go past 5:00pm

8:30-5:00 different hours totaling 7.5hrs per day can be discussed

Fluent in spoken & written English

Be able to physically lift up to 50lbs or more

Have driver’s license

Non smoker

Requirements & Personality traits

- Strong desire to sell (technical) products & equipment
- Knowledge of using a PC & Microsoft office programs such as word, outlook, excel
- Ability to work on more complex sales projects - discovering customers’ needs and answering with our solutions

- Would be nice but not mandatory: pool operator courses, trade certificates or power mechanical level 5,

- Day to day sales processing
- Lead generation, promoting the products we sell to customers inquiring and even some cold calling (support provided)

Day to Day duties will include, but not limited to

- Processing orders
- Providing relevant information to customers, suppliers and coworkers as required
- Updating customers on order status
- Discovering what the customer needs, as they don’t always know
- Quotes including calculating freight and logistics for larger shipments
- Troubleshooting/problem solving
- Following up on quotes and leads to secure the sale or learn why we didn’t win it
- Attending tradeshows
- Arranging details, packing up booth and equipment, and travelling to a few tradeshows per year 2-3) in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario etc.
- Set up of booth, promotion & lead generation at tradeshows
