Role Overview

We are hiring a Helper / Installation Assistant to support StayAble Care bathroom safety projects across the GTA. This is a hands-on role supporting a Lead Installer with disciplined execution, cleanliness, jobsite protection, and safety compliance.

This role is ideal for someone who is physically robust, reliable, fast-moving, and serious about learning renovation work under a structured system.

Key Responsibilities Jobsite Setup + Protection

- Assist with jobsite setup and takedown
- Lay down floor protection, contain pathways, protect walls/surfaces
- Maintain a respectful and clean job environment inside senior homes

Demo Support + Material Handling

- Assist with bathroom demo work (tile removal support, debris handling)
- Bag debris, load/unload, carry materials/tools daily
- Move heavy items safely (garbage bins, tubs/shower materials, drywall, etc.)

Installation Support

- Assist Lead Installer with:

- LVP flooring prep + support (layout help, transitions assistance)

- baseboards removal/install support (like-for-like)

- grab bar install support (measure/hold/drill assistance)

- toilet remove/reset assistance when required

- general carpentry support as directed

Finishing + Cleanup

- Daily cleanup and dust-control discipline:

- HEPA vacuum use

- wipe-downs and sanitation

- garbage removal + pack-out

- Ensure the client home is left clean and safe daily

Documentation Support (Strict)

- Take and send required photos as directed:

- containment

- progress

- before/after

- cleanup completion

Compensation

- $220-$280/day OR $22-$30/hour (based on experience + performance)
- Long-term opportunity for reliable team members

Qualifications





- 1+ years construction / renovation experience preferred (helper/apprentice experience accepted)
- Comfortable with demolition and heavy lifting
- Able to work inside occupied homes professionally (seniors)
- Fast-moving, coachable, strong work ethic
- Must be available for weekday starts (8-9 AM) with occasional Saturdays
- Able to travel across the GTA

Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

- WSIB Clearance Certificate (current) OR proof of required coverage as subcontractor
- Ability to travel across GTA
- Must follow safety protocols (dust control, PPE, containment)
- Police record check may be required depending on role conditions (e.g., unsupervised work)

Safety Compliance (Strict)

This role requires compliance with strict dust control standards:

- Wet methods during demo where feasible
- HEPA vacuum discipline
- Containment / protection of home pathways
- P100 respirator usage + seal check compliance
- STOP policy enforcement for suspect asbestos/designated substances

Probation

Initial 7-14 day probation to confirm:

- reliability + punctuality
- cleanliness and professionalism in senior homes
- ability to follow safety rules without reminders
- speed + discipline under a Lead Installer

Job Types : Fixed term contract, Freelance Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $220.00-$280.00 per day
