Current Value Solutions, a national IT consulting firm, is recruiting experienced Senior Java Developers to support Government of Canada IT consulting engagements focused on enterprise application development, systems modernization, application integration, and digital transformation.

We are seeking accomplished Java Developers with demonstrated experience designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise applications within large, complex technology environments.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Jakarta EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, and application integration components.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into application designs, technical specifications, and software solutions.
- Develop backend services, business logic, data access components, and integrations with enterprise databases and external systems.
- Support application modernization, legacy system enhancements, technology upgrades, and migration initiatives.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-performance application components.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, developers, database specialists, and testing teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Implement secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, and application security controls.
- Support automated builds, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), version control, and application release processes.
- Investigate and resolve application defects, integration issues, and production incidents.
- Prepare technical designs, development specifications, application documentation, and implementation procedures.

Requirements:





- Extensive professional experience in Java application development within large enterprise or public sector IT environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, object-oriented programming, and enterprise application development.
- Demonstrated experience developing applications using Spring, Spring Boot, or comparable Java enterprise frameworks.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, application integration, and secure development practices.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or comparable platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL, database integration, and data access technologies such as JPA or Hibernate.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, unit testing, debugging, and application performance optimization.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, source control, code reviews, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience providing Java development services to Government of Canada departments or agencies.
- Experience supporting large-scale public sector application modernization, enterprise systems implementation, or digital transformation initiatives.




- Experience developing and modernizing applications using Java 11, 17, 21, or other modern Java versions.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or comparable enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerized applications, and cloud-native development practices.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools.
- Experience with enterprise messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with application servers and middleware such as Apache Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly, WebLogic, or WebSphere.
- Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience implementing application security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Spring Security, or comparable authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Experience working within formal government development, documentation, security, and change management frameworks.
- Existing Government of Canada Reliability Status or Secret security clearance.
