Job Overview

- We are seeking a friendly, attentive Waiter/Waitress to provide welcoming and efficient service in a hospitality setting for a South Indian restaurant.

- The ideal candidate enjoys helping guests, works well with a team, and can balance accuracy with a positive dining experience.

- Food service, restaurant, or other food industry experience is helpful. Training may be provided on restaurant procedures and POS systems.

Duties

- Greet guests, explain menu items, answer questions, and take accurate food and beverage orders.

- Enter orders and process transactions using a POS system;

experience with Micros POS is an asset.

- Serve food and beverages promptly, check in with guests, and respond courteously to requests or concerns.

- Make menu recommendations and use appropriate upselling techniques without pressuring guests.

- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, including basic cashiering and cash handling duties.

- Coordinate with kitchen staff to communicate orders, special requests, and timing.

- Follow food handling and food safety practices, including procedures for allergies and special dietary requests.





- Assist with basic food preparation or other service tasks as needed.

- Maintain clean, organized dining and service areas by following sanitation standards.

- Support a smooth service by managing multiple tables and tasks with strong time management.

Requirements

- Strong customer service, guest services, and communication skills, with a professional and hospitable approach and knowledge in south Indian food

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced restaurant or food service setting.

- Basic math and general math skills for order accuracy, payments, and making change.

- Familiarity with POS systems; Micros POS experience is a plus.

- Knowledge of food safety, food handling, and sanitation practices, or willingness to learn and follow established procedures.

- Food service, serving, restaurant, food industry, food preparation, or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks while maintaining a welcoming guest experience.

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
