Job Overview

- We are seeking a dependable Daycare Bus/Vehicle Driver & ECE 1, 2, or 3 to support safe transportation and quality care for children.
- This combined role includes driving children to and from daycare or approved activities, assisting with daily classroom routines, and helping create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment.
- Applicants should have experience working with children and a strong commitment to safety, patience, and clear communication.
- A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required. Any required commercial driving credentials, early childhood education qualifications, and child-safety clearances must be current or obtained as required for the position.

Duties

- Safely transport children along assigned routes and follow established pickup, drop-off, and attendance procedures.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, keep the vehicle clean, and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Use sound judgment when driving and follow traffic laws, daycare policies, and applicable child passenger-safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, including attendance, route information, and incident reports.
- Supervise children during boarding, travel, and drop-off, ensuring each child is accounted for and appropriately secured.
- Assist with classroom activities, routines,



and age-appropriate learning under the direction of the childcare team.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs with patience and respect.
- Communicate professionally with families and coworkers about schedules, child needs, and transportation updates.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in the vehicle and daycare setting.

Skills

- Experience working with children; teaching or early childhood education experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach when interacting with families and colleagues.
- English proficiency required; bilingual or multilingual abilities, especially Spanish and English, are an asset.
- Explicit writing skills for completing records, notes, and incident reports.
- Safe driving habits and, where applicable, commercial driving experience or qualifications.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify vehicle issues and complete routine safety checks.
- Senior care experience is a plus, particularly when supporting individuals with varied care needs.
- Reliability, sound judgment, patience, organization, and the ability to follow safety procedures consistently.

Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
