Position Name: Program Support Educator

Rate: $25.50/hour

Contract Position: This is a recurring contract position. Contracts are signed each June to renew for the upcoming August–June program year.

Qualifications: Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of ECE is Required.

Minimum of 2 years full-time experience in a licensed childcare setting.

Current First Aid & CPR level C Certification.

Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willing to obtain one specific to KIDS Co-op).

Food Handlers Qualification.

Previous office or administrative experience is an asset.

Hours: KIDS Co-op follows the BWDSB Calendar except for PD Days. Meaning we are closed for all STAT holidays, 2 weeks for winter break, 1 week for March Break, and 7-8 weeks for summer break.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-12:00pm

Board Meetings (virtually)- Second Monday of each month 7:30pm-8:30pm

Position Description :
KIDS Co-op is hiring for a Program Support Educator position which will commence November 9th, 2026. In this role, supporting educators and children directly in the classroom will be your highest priority. You will spend the majority of your time in the classrooms providing extra hands on support to staff and children, while also helping with key organizational and administrative responsibilities to support the team.

The responsibilities for this position are as follows:

· Completing scheduling for all employees and securing supply staff. If supply staff are not available, the Program Support Educator or Supervisor will fill in on the floor.

· Assist the Supervisor in covering breaks for Educators.





· Provide scheduled coverage in the classrooms to allow Educators rotating office time to complete required documentation and planning.

· Assist the Supervisor with a mentorship program for all Educators enrolled in Early Childhood Education courses.

· Assign professional development training sessions for all Educators and ensure training is being completed (this can be done individually through the CLL or as a team).

· Work in partnership with the Educators & Supervisor to create individualized plans for children in our programs.

· Ensure individual plans are being implemented and are successful for the child. If plans are not working the Program Support Educator and Supervisor will assist the Educators to develop and implement new plans.

· Spend time working on the floor in each program weekly to assist Educators and offer support whenever needed.

· Ensure playground checks are being completed (Daily, Monthly) Supervisor will complete annual Playground checks.

· Create attendance records and sleep logs each month for all programs. Ensure all attendance records and sleep logs are completed correctly daily.

· Ensure Daily Communication Journal for all programs are being completed daily.

· Work in partnership with Supervisor to plan out team meetings.

· Attend registration meetings with the Supervisor and recent families.

· Attend parent meetings (if instructed by Supervisor to discuss any questions, concerns or individual plans for the child).

· Attend Operator Meetings with the Supervisor.

· Virtually attend monthly Board Meetings.

· Work in partnership with the Supervisor to complete monthly invoices, accept payments and send out reminders.
