Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman OnRoad HET to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining and repairing our fleet of Logistics Trucks as well as flexible to assist our mechanic team and apprentices on our heavy-duty off road Heavy Equipment and crushing equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex systems across Trucks and trailers and assist in various pieces of heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be experienced and complete each project well. He will have the ability to direct the apprentices when needed and relied on to make the final call on a professional project completed.

FT has a new Mechanical building that is newly renovated with our own in house purchaser. We have 8 of our own trucks and around 100 heavy equipment as well as crushing spreads.

This is a steady and consistent schedule. 5 days a week 10 hour shifts. All stat holidays off as well flexible to discuss holiday time.

We have an off road heavy duty journeyman and two top notch apprentices that assists in taking care of all our FT heavy equipment and crushing equipment.

Duties

- Flexible to do field work at our different pits but based out of the main Mechanical shop in Camrose.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to ensure accurate repairs.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions and all mechanical needs to maintain equipment and vehicle safety.
- Collaborate with team members and our our maintenance app
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment and vehicles.
- The ability to stop and assess risk analysis and ask questions to protect the company.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on our Trucks and Trailer Fleet.




- Focus on our Road trucks and trailers units but flexible to assist on the off Road Heavy Duty Equipment and crushing equipment.

- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed however schedule can be discussed in more detail at the interview. Aiming for 5 days a week 45-55 hours per week.
- The focus for this next year will be setting up structure in the new Mechanic building with the team and supporting our 8 truck and trailer units as well as FT's 100 plus pieces of equipment and crushing gear. However with the right Candidate or possibly two on the team we may expand to offering service to outside work.
- Compensating fairly is important to us and will be assessed by management annually at the review. We stated $40-$55/hour to start. Experience will also be discussed at the interview. At 1 year that will be assessed based on experience and the responsibility taken on. There is now a employee savings account and we have a wellness and spending account that the successful candidate will be eligible for at the 1 year mark.
