Overview
We are seeking a Certified Boom Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various utility truck booms including Altec, Terex, POSI and Palfinger equipment including performing annual inspections. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and the ability to read schematics. This position requires hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifying Criteria:

- Provincial Mechanic's licence

- 2 years dedicated practical experience on Utility Type Equipment

Duties

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on utility equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to ensure efficient repairs.
- Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while performing repairs or testing functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety regulations.
- Assist in training junior mechanics on best practices for equipment maintenance.




- Continuous training updates for Terex, Altec, Palfinger, etc equipment.

Requirements

- Proven experience in Boom Technician work (certification if available).
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
- Knowledge & understanding of Commercial Vehicle Safety requirements
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems related to heavy equipment.
- Capability to lift heavy objects as required for the job (heavy lifting).
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Troubleshoot problems in hydraulic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Estimate cost and time of repairs.
- Ability to work in shop & yard atmosphere.
- Robust communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
