Overview

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused On-Call Cashier to support retail operations during scheduled coverage needs and busy periods. This flexible role is a positive fit for someone who enjoys helping customers, handling transactions accurately, and contributing to a welcoming, well-organized store. You’ll receive paid training on store procedures and point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide attentive customer service throughout the shopping experience.
- Process purchases, returns, and other transactions using the POS system.
- Handle cash and other payment methods accurately, following established cash handling procedures.
- Use basic math to verify totals, provide change, and help resolve transaction discrepancies.
- Support retail sales by learning product features, making relevant recommendations, and using appropriate upselling techniques.
- Assist with technology sales, explain product features, and provide clear product demos when appropriate.
- Apply technical sales experience to understand customer needs and help them compare suitable products.
- Restock and arrange merchandise, maintain displays,



and assist with merchandising and general store upkeep.
- Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers, including by phone, using professional phone etiquette.
- Stay organized and manage time effectively while responding to changing coverage needs and store priorities.

Qualifications

- Strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a professional approach to service.
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, POS systems, retail sales, or customer service is helpful.
- Interest in sales and comfort discussing products; technology sales, technical sales, or product demonstration experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills and careful attention to transaction accuracy.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Proficiency in English is required for customer and team communication.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are welcome and may help serve a diverse customer base.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
