Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide in-home care to clients in Goderich. You’ll support individuals with daily routines while helping them maintain their comfort, dignity, independence, and connection to their community. This role may involve working with older adults and people with disabilities in a home-care setting.

Requirements

- Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized program.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Recent experience supporting adults with significant mobility limitations in a home or comparable care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with pivot transfers and wheelchair mobility according to an assessed care plan.
- Experience assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting and skin care while encouraging independence.
- Ability to provide gentle, paced care for someone with severe pain and sensitivity to touch.




- Ability to protect feeding tubes and vascular access devices during personal care and transfers.
- Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in alertness, dizziness, pain, nausea, vomiting, skin condition or device concerns.
- Willingness to assist with care-related laundry, light housekeeping and maintaining accessible pathways.
- Explicit communication and accurate care documentation.
- Ability to follow assigned responsibilities and coordinate care with the nurse.
- Reliable transportation to the Goderich assignment.
- Comfortable working in a home with dogs.
- Completion of client-specific orientation and transfer competency verification before independent assignment.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
