Our client, a renowned company in the energy industry in New Brunswick, is currently seeking a Front End engineer to fill a 12 months contract.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Lead and / or actively participate in Front End Loading (FEL) 1 and FEL 2 project activities
- Responsible for stakeholder and sponsor management which includes communicating and collaborating with project sponsors and key internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for developing critical project documents e.g. Project- Frame, I Phase Plan, Project Design Intent, Decision Matrix, etc. and presenting to all levels of the organization
- Lead and/or actively participate in benefits analyses and business case development
- Facilitate project work and studies with 3rd party consultants, technology licensors and engineering contractors, while also directing, reviewing and approving their work and deliverables
- Support the development of project schedules, project execution plans and cost estimates

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical (preference) or Mechanical Engineering with P.Eng.
- 10+ years of experience in process or mechanical engineering for heavy industry (oil/gas, mining, power generation, etc.)
- 10+ years of experience in refinery (or equivalent) process or mechanical engineering.
- Refinery process technology knowledge/design experience an asset.
- Process simulation skills/experience an asset.
- Experience representing the interests of refinery owner/operator in capital project development is a strong asset.
- Experience in Energy Transition projects is an asset (Electrolysis; Co-processing; Biofuel blending; Energy Management; Renewable Natural Gas; Cogen; Carbon Capture & Storage).
