Due to significant growth and opportunity, we are seeking a Junior Industrial Designer for a six-month contract. This new opportunity has the potential to lead to full-time employment.

Job Overview

The Junior Industrial Designer, designs and develops displays based on client specifications with a high attention to detail and ability to produce results with strong aesthetics and sound engineering. This role will be responsible for following projects from the initial design stage to production.

Responsibilities

- Support product and concept development through research, sketching, visual exploration, and design refinement.
- Create clear digital design materials, including concept boards, layouts, presentations, and product visuals.
- Develop 2D and 3D concepts using appropriate design, illustration, and modeling tools.
- Prepare graphics and layouts with attention to visual design, typography, hierarchy, and consistency.
- Assist with motion graphics and 2D or 3D animation to communicate product ideas and interactions.
- Create and revise models, drawings, and visualizations; incorporate feedback from design reviews.




- Coordinate with teammates to organize files, document design decisions, and prepare materials for handoff.
- Explore materials, finishes, color, and surface treatments, including relevant painting and construction techniques.

Your Background

- Undergraduate diploma or degree in industrial Design is highly encouraged.
- Experience in designing aluminum extrusions systems is an asset.
- Previous experience as a manufacturing industry engineer, industrial designer or similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of how production lines and other manufacturing processes operate along with fabrication methods.
- High level of proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD Software), Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Competent in spatial mathematics, reading schematics, floorplans and blueprints.
- Knowledge of various materials used in the store fixture industry i.e. metal, wood, acrylic, glass.
- Ability to respond quickly to unplanned changes and revisions.
- Effective communication and reporting skills for meetings with management to keep them informed of important developments.
