Warehouse Operations Supervisor (Kelowna)

Coast Distributors is looking for a full-time, five days/week, hands-on Operations Supervisor that will be based in our Kelowna branch located in the Winfield Industrial park.

This position will be responsible for assisting in all warehouse operations related to picking orders, shipping, receiving, and warehousing, reporting to the Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of relevant warehouse experience, and be working towards becoming a leader, energized by driving change and initiatives through process improvement and growth in all areas of warehouse operations.

Established in 1986, Coast Distributors is Western Canada’s largest independent two-step hardware and building supply distributor, selling thousands of products to customers across Western Canada.

Key duties include, but are not limited to

· Supervise a warehouse team of approximately 6-8 members.

· Maintain warehouse operation/organization by analyzing workflow and space requirements.

· Coordinate outbound transportation and movement of product between warehouses including working with couriers and trucking companies.





· Oversee the maintenance of our truck fleet and warehouse equipment and ensure they comply with all safety and operational guidelines.

· Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and discipline employees as required. Communicate job expectations, plans, monitor, appraise and complete reviews.

· Oversee inventory cycle counts

· Weekly meetings with warehouse staff to maintain communication

· Able and comfortable with driving larger delivery vehicles (if required). One ton Cube van and 5 ton Hino.

· Willing and open to a flexible work schedule and overtime if the situation presents itself.

Qualifications / Experience

· Minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse and/or operations

· Excellent communication and relationship building skills

· Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

· Excellent leadership skills, building a positive & productive work environment, treating employees fairly while motivating and training to ensure employee morale is high

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills

· Forklift Certified or willingness to become

· Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certified or willingness to become

· First Aid certified or willingness to become

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
